Fossil footprints in Kenya show two ancient human species coexisted

Homo erectus, an early member of our evolutionary line with body proportions like those of Homo sapiens, lived from about 1.89 million to 110,000 years ago, ranging from about 4 feet 9 inches to 6 feet 1 inch (145-185 cm) tall.
